Varcoe Eyecare is an independently run opticians, opened in 2019 by Dan Varcoe.
We now hold the patient records for the closed Blaylocks Opticians and Grant Reid Optometrists. We welcome both new patients and those that were seen at either of these previous opticians as the natural place to continue your eyecare.
Being independent means that we can work with any lens and frame manufacturers that we choose to, this in turn means that we will always be able to make a great recommendation, to ensure you have the best possible vision, and the styles of glasses that you want, no matter what the occasion.
Dan, originally from Cornwall, studied to be a dispensing optician and then later trained as an optometrist at Bradford University, after a year working in Jersey it was time to come home to Cornwall.
Having gained lots of clinical and practical experiences over nearly 15 years, it was time to start Varcoe Eyecare.
Vicki started working in optics at the age of 19, where she worked as a receptionist for a family run Opticians in Plymouth. After a lot of learning she wanted to help her patients even more and decided that she would like to become a Dispensing Optician, she studied at City and Islington College in London, alongside continuing to work in practice.
When Vicki met her now husband 8 years ago she relocated to beautiful Cornwall.
Vicki joined Varcoe Eyecare as she felt that the company has an ethos similar to her own, to look after her patients as best possible and to offer great lenses and amazing frame styles.
Outside of work Vicki enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks on the beach and spending time in the garden.
